             The order of the transfer function is first order.

6.4 Control Algorithm

 

A proportional-integral-derivative controller (PID controller) is used in this reactor. 

 

A summary of the PID Controller :

Proportional   : reacts to deviation in CV, not concern about the time

Integral          : corrective action depends on the duration of the deviation

Derivative       : rate of change of error, amplifies sudden changes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From the graph, we can see that Proportional controller reduce the offset.
